Hi, can I have a private post please?

So, I’m on maternity leave from the army with my 8 week old daughter. I’ll be on reduced pay soon cause I’m leaving and it’s going to be abit of a struggle with me and my partner money wise. I would want to get a job within a few months to be able to pay my way and not struggle but then again I don’t want to miss out on my baby’s first word/steps. Plus a family member said they would look after my daughter for me and my partner when I go back to work. This may sound harsh, but I kinda don’t want them too (although nothing agreed) because if they witnessed my daughters first word/steps they’d never stop going on about it and be telling everyone and I’d never hear the last of it, being heartbroken that I’d missed it (not in a malicious way btw) although there is child minders but they cost a bomb. What I want advice on is, would you want to wait and witness both or at least 1 before going back to work and struggle with money a little, or find a job and miss out and have someone else witness first words/steps? I know some people don’t have the choice but unsure 😕
