Hi mums I’m looking for some advice please, I have a 2 year old daughter, I am no longer with her dad, she sees him once maybe twice a week but he’s very unreliable and for this reason I’ll rarely tell her she’s going to his house. Problem is… my daughter hates going to his house and constantly tells me she doesn’t like him… as soon as I mention his name she creates and will become so upset!
I have tried different things, dropping her off to him in different places, letting her nap before hand and not letting her nap at all… or even made him take her swimming so I drop her there but she still has the biggest tantrum! I have had to go and pick her up on many occasions shortly after dropping her off as he can’t deal with her tantrums when they last longer than 5 minutes!
It is absolutely heart breaking handing her to him while she’s clinging onto me with every piece of her 😞 he’s said people look at him like he’s kidnapped her because she is in such a state and will not let him comfort her!
I do believe her dad loves her however I’m also aware that his life comes first and he regularly lets me down with pathetic excuses. I don’t want to be ‘that Mum’ that stops her dad seeing her but I can’t continue to go through this so any advice welcome please!! No nasty comments I’ve just dropped her off and am feeling upset enough as it is 😞 also to make you aware I never bad mouth him in front of her and we are always civil with each other when my daughter is present!
