Hi, could I have a PP please? Looking for some advice.
My OH wants to legally adopt my child, it’s something we’ve spoken about through the years and now we’re due to get married he’s really desperate now. He has been in their life since they were 9 months old (Now 9 years old) and the ‘real father’ left me at 8 weeks pregnant at a very, very young age and has never ever seen him – tried to force me into an abortion. My child has never known different except my OH is his dad. The only way they will let us do this is if we tell my child everything, about the real dad and try to help him understand. No one is on their birth certificate expect me. I’m so stressed out as my OH is heartbroken and doesn’t want them to love him any less. What can I do? And please no bashing, we didn’t force them to call my OH dad, they literally bonded instantly and we just didn’t correct him – my fault I know since now it’s coming back to bite me!
