Hi could I have a pp please x

Need some advice.. my husband has been told he has depression and has been out on tablets.. he was told he could have a sick note to be put on the sick from work but thing that’s putting us off doing this is the fact he would only get 89.35 a week statutory sick pay this would not cover half the bills including rent.. we only get child tax ATM also which is only 43, I don’t work as I am currently doing a course which will end next month, is there anything what so ever we can claim if he went on the sick? He’s been going to work but ends up coming home after half a day as he is having dizzy spells or feels sickly which is the side affect of the tablets so preferably he does need to be off work till they get into his system.. it’s a shame as he is such a hard worker and I feel so helpless for him, any advice would be great thankyou x
