Hi, could u post please,
I have a 4 week boy and for the last week he’s been screaming none stop, I’ve been to docs, called 111 and out of hours docs, they have perscribed him gaviscon and nutramigen formula (gaviscon started last Saturday, formula will start today as it needed to be ordered in) .. I rang docs just now and they said it sounds like acid relux, and take him to A&E if he’s bad again later (went to bed at 11pm didn’t settle until 4am, woke up 6am) .. so has anyone else had the same problem and got any suggestions or ideas on how to help him? We will go to A&E later if he’s bad but I rather not cause got a 2 year old il have to take with me) .. he screams lots and bends his back back and goes bright red. He’s drinking fine, and wet & dirty nappies.
I don’t want to go to A&E and they say he’s fine and leave and have a upset boy screaming. Thank u xx

  • I had this with my son. Turned out it was just unbearable colic. It lasted until he was about 4 months old. There’s a bucket you can buy which helped us out a lot, its basically a bucket full of warm water which you dip baby into. Also try holding him in the tiger in the tree position and walking him around like that. Is he breast or bottle fed? If he’s bottle fed I would ask doctors to check for allergies. Unfortunately I learnt that colic is something that they just grow out of. There’s loads of support groups on Facebook that kept me sane and the girls on them have loads of helpful advice. Good luck xx

  • My little one had acid reflux and had to have ranitidine which only our doctor could prescribe. We tried gaviscon for 8 weeks which didnt work at all but they kept saying just try one more week over and over again. In the end they gave us ranitidine and she was like a different baby straight away xx
