Hi I need some help/advice. My little girl is 17 months old and is quite a character. Lately she has been screaming the place down when we are out and when we are at home. I have tried milk food sleep toys to distract her. Bringing in someone else eg my mom or husband to speak to her and she just screams and bangs her head then she cries as she has hurt herself. I know I have spoilt her buying her all sorts of toys but she never use to be like this. She had chicken pox a few weeks ago and I put it down to the lead up of that. But u don’t think it can be down to that anymore. I give her paracetamol when she is really screaming incase it’s pain. I have tried teething powders incase it’s teeth. She shows real anger when she screams, it’s really upsetting I feel like I am a bad mom as I can’t help or console my child. I take her to regular sensory classes weekly so she can interact with others and develop in other areas. I have gone through my uni books and college books (trained in child care, foundation degree in early years) and there seems to be no answer know she isn’t a text book and every child is different. But when we are out I look at other children who are happy looking at the animals at zoos or watching the puppet shows happily and my little girl is screeching and yellowing oh know. I let her out her pram thinking maybe it’s because she wants to be free and walk, sometimes that works but then she really kicks off I’d I take her hand to cross a road or because it’s busy. She hates her reins.
Am I the only one who is going through this is it a phase that will pass. I am grateful of any advice or strategies please xxx
