Hi private post please….. I have a 9 week old baby… very rocky relationship from day with her dad… anyway we split 3 weeks ago and since then he’s seen her about 10 hours in total! And just thinks he can turn up whenever he wants and if I don’t allow this he just won’t bother seeing her…. his words he said he doesn’t want routine… dunno wot I’m really asking here…. do I allow him to do this…. seems like I’m being backed into a corner thanks in advance 😊

Can u reply please I’ve tried to offer routine afew times but he’s completely turned it down… I’m the one pushing him to see her, I know I can’t keep doing it.he knows I have no family support and said he will have her overnight but only if I stay at his… the last thing I want is him walking in and out her life whenever suits…
Personally I think babies/children need a routine. Older kids will adapt better but newborns need the doubting. I think dad’s need to be involved as long as they want to be but he doesn’t sound like he does. To me it sounds like he’s looking for a way out!!!! Sit him down and tell him suitable times he can visit. I would give him 10/15 minutes after the agreed time in case he gets held up but don’t tell him that then move on with your day. If he turns up after that just ignore the door.
Tbh if it was me id message him and say she needs routine in her life and put a set routine in place then u have it there for all to see that uve been more than reasonable keep it all in texts
People behave the way they think they can. Don’t allow the behavior.
