I was wondering if there’s anyway you can set up a payment plan with bailiffs, before me and partner got together and moved in together he got himself in debt with council and now they took it to a debt collector we paid of £90 of it and then they requested £90 a month off us which we couldn’t afford, we’ve sat and worked out payments and we are gonna make it work but now they demanding £250 of us which we can’t afford so now they sending bailiffs and I’m so scared that they gonna come while my partner at work and we can’t afford a big amount so just want to offer them the £90, is this possible?

Can you add to my post please my partner spoke to them yesterday and today and because he can’t pay the £250 up front today they can’t do anything about it xx
Don’t answer the door, they have no legal right to enter your home but if their high court enforcement then that’s a whole different story, not all bailiffs are bad but some do try to scare you into paying higher amounts, if £90 is all you can afford keep paying that, they can’t turn around and say you or your partner haven’t tried to pay the debt off, give them a ring and explain finances z
Usually as long as you pay a chunk off they will set up a payment plan but ring them before the bailiff comes once they’ve been to your house the company won’t deal with it and they’ll add a lot on top x
Before paying any money to baliffs join beat the baliffs and the banks they will give u really good advice
They can’t send bailiff if you haven’t missed payment as long as you’ve made all your £90 payments if you’ve missed payments they can
