  • I have to agree with this mum in this case why aren’t the parents of the other children teaching them that they can’t have everything they see? My son who is in primary 7 goes to school with a well stocked pencil case everyday but always comes home with stuff missing because his teacher makes him share and the other kids never return anything.

  • I’m so torn. Yes to some degree I do agree, although we should teach that it’s nice to share, I don’t get why we instil the rule to child that we always have to. As an adult if you ask if you can have some of my lunch – I’ll say no, because you know, I love food. If something is theirs why should they feel obliged to give it up to someone else. A communal environment like play group or whatever fair enough. I just don’t know. I teach my daughter that it’s nice to share, but I don’t make her give a toy up – the other child can have it when she’s done (she has the attention span of a goldfish, so to be fair they won’t be waiting long) lol
