My daughter was 2 in September, we started potty training at the beginning of November. She has been using the potty and the toilet since just before 18 months for a poo and hadn’t had a poo in her nappy for a long time now, even when out she would ask for the toilet for a poo. Anyway, in November we decided to start properly training for wee as well as in the house we had been leaving her with no bottoms on and she was using the potty fine so I believe she was definitely ready. She took to it really well, obviously we had quite a few accidents in the first week but after that she’s been great. She asks when she needs the toilet and only having a few accidents, maybe 1-2 a week, this has been for 5 weeks now. However this week since Wednesday she has gone backwards. She started off just weeing every time we put her in the car seat, even after I’d had her on the toilet minutes before hand ( we always put her on the toilet before a car trip even if it’s a short one).
Then today and yesterday she has just been randomly wetting herself, I don’t mean just a few accidents she’s had a lot. Today she has had 6 accidents and hasn’t asked once for a wee. She hasn’t had any major life changes in the last couple of weeks and there’s nothing else I can put it down to. I don’t believe she is unwell or anything like that. Has anybody ever gone through this and does anyone have any advice? We don’t want to go back to nappies cos she’s proven to us she’s capable of doing it and she’s done so well! For now we’ve just reverted back to having the potty in the sitting room all the time available for her to use, but today even that’s not working!
Thanks
