Okay ppp. Has any mums had any involvement with CHAMS team?… We had two referrals off his teacher from fs2. and his teacher from year 1 for my 6 year old son and it taken them 6 month to say basically ‘he doesn’t meet the criteria to be assessed’ his teacher was fuming and basically sorted it out so that they’re goin into school to assess him during the morning.. I’m just worried incase he has a ‘good morning’ then where do I turn next? πŸ™ his teacher has been teaching 15 years and has tried every strategy she knows to try and help him and she’s as lost as me… I feel awful cause I just want to help him πŸ˜‘ xxx

  • CAHMS are too easy to dismiss kids, dismissed mine and 5 years later we have a diagnosis and issues that should have been dealt with years ago. They are still not helpful, I have to harass them to get an appt. They are that far stretched and don’t have the budget to cater for every child that needs their help. All you can do is badger them with phone calls every other day till they listen x

  • Ive been in camhs from 14 to 18 then got put into mind in my opinion they are rubbish. If they actually worked i wouldnt be in a adult mental health service, but thats just me it may be really useful for you x
