Online Fraudster Who Targetted Mums Advice Faces Jail

A 21-year-old conwoman and sick twisted individual posted photos of other people’s babies on social media and claimed they were ill or dead, magistrates heard.

Katie Ringer targeted two strangers, copied and hijacked their Instagram accounts and claimed the women’s infants were her own, the court was told. She had tried to post on mums advice main page and our smaller private chat group.

Luckily for our members we spotted her and quickly banned her from the page.

She used the pictures of the babies – one who was extra premature and another newborn – on online sites similar to Mums advice she had set up begging for money.

The convicted fraudster even claimed one of the babies had died, Norwich magistrates heard.

Katie, who now faces being sent back to jail, was hauled back into court after she was caught by police, we can’t help but to be happy at Mums advice that she has been apprehended.

She was jailed for 2 years and 9 months at Basildon Crown Court in Essex in 2015 for 23 similar offences.

This is one of the main reasons why Mums advice do not post messages asking for cash, yes there are many genuine people out there but it is always best to direct them to local charities or crisis teams.
