Please could I get a private post? I am looking for other people’s experience and opinions on child access court cases. Sorry for the waffle in advance.

My partner is a very doting and loving father and he is an amazing father figure to my daughter. His ex (mother) is still bitter and resentful that they broke up, even though they’re both with other people now. She is using their daughter as a weapon and tries to hurt him by stopping him seeing her and playing mind games. She lets him have his daughter whenever she feels like it, which is increasingly getting less and less – we are talking a few months now, and it usually followed by I love you, I’m sorry and I want you back etc. He is always really honest with me and tells me everything that goes on in that respect and I know he has told her straight and I think that’s why she then turns nasty and won’t let him see her. Anyway, he is taking her to court after failed mediation (she didn’t turn up) and I’m just interested to know people’s experience on these types of cases?

He is going for access of overnight one night at weekend and one afternoon for tea in the week. She’s using mind games to scare him that he is wasting his time and being awful. I don’t think that’s much to ask and can’t see anyone not allowing the court order. My ex husband has our daughter every other weekend fully and one day overnight in the week. I do my best to accommodate him as much as I can for his sake as well as obviously my daughters. I cannot understand why anyone would use their child as a weapon and stop a relationship with their father but it hurts me seeing him hurting. He literally is so loving and doting and there’s no reason other than bitterness of the mother about the breakdown of their personal relationship that’s stopping it. I want to encourage and support him as much as I can.

Any advice, tips or experience of this would be really appreciated.
