My good friend recently told me hes been speaking to a lady from the Philippines every day for a year, which at first i didnt think much about appart from its weird to speak to a stranger! Then a day later he was really miffed off so i asked why. He then told me and my partner in confidence that hed sent her money. £810 to be precise, tried asking why and how often ect, all we could really get out of it was shes only asked for it twice (2nd the being the day he told us) so hes most likely sent her the £810 all at once and the 2nd time only reason he was miffed off was because he had to decline as he didnt have any to send her! Reason for her wanting money was something to do with her being in debt with a loan and the bank has frozen her account… *allarm bells ringing* The worst bit is he thinks hes going to get it back so would of been happy to send more, she said shes earning over 1000 a month and his dad is really well off… but hes told her all of his info first.
He completely believes her and hes the sort of person to be annoyed when plans dont go exactly to plan.. Eg if you owe him £10 and promise to pay him back on so and so date and happen not be able to he will have a hissy! He isnt mentally disabled! Think he has schizophrenia so his mood can vary.
Reason for asking for advice is do we tell his mum before he gets himself into any more trouble (Ps hes 30!) and is wanting to buy a house in the very near future…. he would resent us for telling his parents and maybe fall out for a bit but we think its worth it. How would you go about telling his parents without making too worried? x
