Just wondering how long it took people to get a bigger place on the council?
I’m in a 1 bed flat in a tower block with a 1 year old and have been bidding for 18 months and still coming 100th on most places 😞 best I manage is 60th, feels like I’m gonna be stuck here forever.
(I’d go private but I can’t afford it, average rent is £650 on 2 bed places but universal credit will only pay £500 max for housing, also I have no way of paying the deposit, agency fees and 1 months rent, have a bad credit rating and no1 accepts benefits)
I’ve tried applying to all the housing associations but their lists are all full so won’t add me!
I’m in stockport.
