Ppp. My son has been at his dad’s all weekend and come home like this. He’s saying he put cream on him but I don’t think he has. He said his dad put it on twice and he was in the pool. My soon can’t wear any tops as it hurts him. Am I right to be annoyed.

  • It’s a hard one as I put sun cream on my daughter 4x in one day and she was burnt badly (didn’t even go in water) I would be a little annoyed but sometimes these things happen. Just put plenty of after sun on Hun x

  • I’ve put sun cream on my daughter every hour today and she’s still got a little sunburnt on her back, maybe he did re-apply it, if the kids been sweating and running around, even jumping in water, you’re not always 100% protected. Nothing you can do now, loads of aloe-Vera after sun, next time just remind him he needs to religiously re-apply and make sure he stays in shade/out of sun between 11-2 x

  • It’s ok to be annoyed but accidents do happen. Sometimes the cream isn’t enough and sun should be limited to young ones.
My kids struggle with the heat so it’s easy to bring them in.

  • Yes your right to be annoyed his dad should have kept his T-shirt on and now your wee boy has to suffer the pain ,god love him ,it doesn’t look like his dad put enough cream on him 😣

  • Dad may not be aware that he needs to reapply after getting out of the water and every 2 hrs ….many parents don’t use sunscreen by the directions …..don’t be annoyed as this can easily happen when your child is with you also …

  • There wouldn’t of been any harm in making him go in the shade for a bit suncream is one thing but children really shouldn’t be in the sun long enough to burn, could of put the pool in the shade, under a gazebo etc.

  • i wore factor 50 and topped up but still came him with a bit of sunburn… water enhances the burning too 🙁 maybe try teabags on it to cool skin down, and cucumber? xx

  • That can happen with sun cream. Easily! I lived in Orlando and plastered my kids with cream, this still happened especially when playing in water

  • Yes and no this definitely can happen even with sun cream on but maybe he should have been topped up more. But he was poolside so more susceptible to getting burnt. It’s one of the maybe shoulda coulda woulda situations. Just get him in a cool shower and keep him moisturised and hydrated and he should be fine 🙂

  • But even your son said his dad did put cream on him.. It happens. Obviously water makes you burn even if you’ve got cream on. It’s just on of those things.
