PPP.
OPEN UNIVERSITY ADVICE PLEASE
I am a single mother of 3. I have no child care other than my ex (although he has yet to take them – just sees them round my house) He works shifts, every week is a different time/day/length, so makes things very complicated.
Unfortunately due to bad health complications, I very recently had to give up the job I’ve been in for 10 years. I have lots of further treatments/appointments to go and I have no idea when I will be ready to find work. I am hating it and finding it is bringing me down more and more, I’ve never had to claim anything before. Of course, there is nothing wrong with it, needs must at the moment, but I just need to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I’m looking at completely starting a fresh. Retraining. No idea what. I need it to work around children (my youngest starts school sept) but with majority, particularly in the beginning to be home based (without placements) at least until my help improves (hopefully)
What are your experiences with open university? I got ABC in my A levels in 2008, so mature student. Does it suit children at home? Finances? What would I be entitled to? What course did you do? Did you get a job at the end? Was it worth it?
Seriously, any advice. I need something positive and to feel like I have a future again.
Sorry for long post.
Thanks in advance.
