I’ve just had my first baby who’s 10 weeks old, at my 6 week check I asked to be put on contraception but the doctor looked at me all surprised and said I didn’t need it as I was breast feeding and that so long as I’m breast feeding I’m protected. He was hesitant to give me anything because there’s no proof hormones from contraception can’t be passed through my milk to baba. I really don’t want to fall pregnant again and I’m struggling to believe this is true. He says come back when my sons six months old. My partners thrilled because he hates condoms and isn’t bothered anyway if I fall pregnant again but I really don’t want to. Anyone else got pregnant within the first six months of having a baby while breast feeding?!
