So I’m coming to the end of my maternity leave. I want to go back to work part time. My partner works full time and I look after our baby. I’ve spoke to him about me going back part time and getting childcare help off our families which they have agreed happily to do. It’ll also ease the financial strain on my partner as we get no help of benefits or anything which is fair enough. However we are struggling a bit for money atm what with bills and other expenses so instead of going back 2 days a week I suggest me go back 4 days. he’s gone mental and said he doesn’t want me to go back to work he wants me to stay at home with the baby as if I go back to work someone else will be raising her and we will miss her first steps etc. Am i in the wrong?
