I am my mums main carer and for as long as I can Remember she has always been jealous and controlling, shouting screaming and just putting me down. She has been in a bad mood since yesterday and today turned violent, slapping me around the face, pulling my hair out scratching my arms. She then called family members and said I was doing this to her and crying, she’d come off the phone and continue being abusive to me. She finally left the house but called the police to me I showed the police my injuries and showed them the damage she has done but said I didn’t want to press charges. My question is I have a 13 year old son, is this domestic violence? If I go to the housing will they help me? I really can’t be out of borough due to his school and having a court order for contact but I don’t think I can cope with much more and worried social services will take my son from me. Thank you for any advice

Yes its still classed as domestic violence get urself out if yu do it now rather than later social services wont have a reason to be involved x
As above but also see the GP and tell them you’re struggling to cope. They can arrange help x
