Private post please.
My bag and purse were stolen on Sunday. I then see someone trying to sell my stuff on Facebook. I’ve messaged her to arrange collection for some make up that she was also selling. I now have her address. I’ve contacted the police but they said they can’t help me in any way. I’m not bothered about my bag and purse I just want my passport and driving licence back. I dont have anyone who would go round for me, I’m on my own. What do I do?!

  • If just message her telling her you’ve noticed she is selling your belongings and if you don’t get your stuff returned you will be calling the police this will surely get her scared. Even though you know you’ve already called them

  • Why won’t the police help? Have you got screen shots of your items that she’s selling? I would be ringing the police back and asking why they aren’t allocating it to someone when you have a name and address for a possible suspect. Have they even recorded the theft on their systems?

  • Send a message saying the items your selling are mine from the purse that was stolen do you know where the passport and driving licence are

She might be an innocent middle man who knows nothing about it so don’t go in all guns blazing xx

  • Whoever is breaking the law by selling stolen goods, the police could at least look into it,she could end up with a handling stolen goods charge

  • She can’t be the brightest spark in the box as she would have known you from your profile picture as on your driving license/passport.. go round there and demand your belongings back..if she says no then phone the police for theft . No one can accuse you of lying your face is on the documents.

  • It was probably sold to her and she has no idea. Message her again telling her that you’d like your things back and you won’t involve the police or anyone else, you just want your things.

  • If it was her that stole it surely shed recognise you/your name from passport/ driver license. Ask her to give it back and they say police is aware of the situation 🙂

  • She doesn’t know that the police won’t help you, go round there say you want your stuff back or you will call the police, I wouldn’t let her get away with it

  • I’d say that you’ve rang the police about it and they have offered to go round and sort it but you’d rather give her a chance to sort it between yourselves first before you involve them. And remind her you have the address and screenshots of her selling it incase she tries to discard of the stuff x
