Subject:SURESTART
My LG is 4 m/o and my HV was out 2 weeks away for a regular check (I moved town and was also my first time meeting her) and she is more than happy enough to not return until my LG is 1 y/o (with the option of going to a 6-8 m/o meeting with other mums to talk about weaning). Apart from that I’m 19 and new to the town so I don’t know anybody so I asked her to recommend classes I could go to so we could meet new people and hopefully make friends. She advised me to go with private classes but she could also sign me up for “sure start” and I didn’t know what it was and had actually forgotten about it, but I got a call today saying they’d like to make a home visit next week and I agreed. I’ve just googled it and it’s for people who need additional support and seem like a lot of hassle! Can I get some advice whether or not i should pursue this (or cancel, which I think would make them suspicious) and what happens during their visit when they call out to my home? Thanks x
