Woman Warns Others About Claire’s Accessories

Brenda Campos is trying to spread awareness after her child had a bad ear-piercing experience at Claire’s accessories.

Campos said “Do not get ur kids ears pierced in Claire’s Accessories this is what’s happened to r Poppy’s ears she paid £50 followed what she was supposed to do now she’s got to have an operation 2moro to get them out I’m fuckin fuming😡😡😡😡 she’s not the only one a few people have had bad experiences 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡PLEASE SHARE”.

Claire’s accessories only pierce ears with guns,

Piercing guns use stud earrings of a standard length. People with thick earlobes may find that their new earrings are tight when lobes swell after piercing. They will have little to no post length to use for expansion to relieve the pressure.

A professional body piercer has access to many styles of initial jewellery that won’t inhibit comfort or the healing process.

Piercing Guns Cause Blunt Force Trauma to earlobe
Most guns force blunt-ended studs through the tissue of your ears, a painful process that can cause damage. The shock isn’t typically a huge issue for the lobes, but why risk it? A piercing professional will pierce you with razor-sharp hollow needles that pierce through areas quickly without damaging the surrounding tissue. This process is usually less painful than using a piercing gun.

People who have worked in some retail establishments that use piercing guns often say they began to pierce after just a short amount of time and  training, sometimes only a few hours. With that little training, how can piercers be aware of the sanitary precautions that must be followed to prevent contamination? Or how to instruct for proper aftercare?

I got my cartilage pierced 2 years ago here and I cleaned it way to much and I was that scared of it getting infected I went and bought another bottle of the stuff and I was using salt water. However after both bottles were finished I found it still very painful so I went to a body piercing shop and they changed the earring as it had gotten to small, I also asked them how long I should keep it on for and what the normal healing time is Claire’s said wash it for 3 weeks and after 6 weeks you can change it I the man in the shop said to me that it takes almost a year for it to heal fully and you should keep an eye on it even if it’s ones every week for a clean after the first 6 WEEKS. I went to the shop to find that the person who did my cartilage wasn’t even trained ! I wasn’t that bothered at first until I remembered that there was a little girl in before me getting her first ever earrings.

  • I had my ear pierced in claires, I had the top of my ear done, after a week it was still swollen and painful, I followed all the instructions and it continued to get worse, I went to the doctors who said that I had an infection in the back of the piercing. If untreated I would end up with cauliflower ear, I paid for the 9 carat gold earrings as I’m allergic to the cheap stuff and although the front “ball” but was gold the rest was tin which caused the reaction, this was 2 years ago and I still have some pain in that area. I have 11 piercings in total and never had this problem with any others however I have always gone to blue banana except this occasion. I still have the pictures too.

My doctor also told me a gun should never be used to pierce cartilage as it can cause it to shatter

I got both my daughter’s ears pierced years ago at Claire’s accessories and never and such thing happen I’ve even had my own done 6 times and everything’s been absolutely fine however my sister had hers done by 2 different piercing shops and both times got infected I’d say it all depends on you as a person because not everyone takes to piercings at the end of the day it’s a foreign body within your body so yeah the chances of an infection happening is high regardless of how clear you keep it/them

My daughter Lilly got her ears done April 2018 I have now had to take earings out. She had big lump behind her ear . Took her to docs wasn’t sure if it was an infection or cyst got antibiotics and it did clear. She wouldn’t let me take other earing out but it was going the same way . 50 pounds down the drain but glad her ears are ok . Won’t be back there

  • I had the same thing!! I now have scar tissue and cannot have them redone in same place! They use guns that cause blunt trauma to ur ears and there earring have cheep backs with then also cause a reaction! Mine just would never heal as they had damaged the tissue! I highly recommend using proper tattoo places to do ur piercings! Clair’s were also were yer reluctant to refund my money or even speak to the manange I then constantly contacted head office following loads of emails and evidence they sent me a £50 refund! Which was not enough as my ears are now permanently damaged!
