Hi can I have a post please.
Need advice regarding my grandmother please. Bear with me might get a little long. So my grandmother is in a nursing home with dementia has been since June. My uncle as power of attorney he’s living in her house has access to her money that wouldn’t be a problem. but he’s drinking that much he’s been hospitalised 3 times once while she was still at home and he was her carer because of this she had a fall while he was in hospital and was found 3 days later by my auntie which is why she’s now in the home social services deemed him not fit to care for her. He’s changed the locks since she was moved there refuses to take her any clothes she has 2 sets of clothes atm. He won’t answer the door when we go round won’t answer the phone texts nothing we’re really at the end of ideas on what to do. This home isn’t the best tbh and the plan was for her to live there until her house was sold in order to get her better care but my uncle refuses to do this as he still lives there and would be homeless if it was sold it’s also his inheritance. Does anyone know if we could fight him being the power of attorney if so how? Failing that how do we go about getting into the house to get her some things other than breaking in which my other uncle has already been cautioned for? Thank you any advice would be huge help.
