I’m looking for some advice my little boy has recently started first year in primary school! He’s 4 years old! His teacher pulled me aside and explained he seems to be struggling remembering letters there being taught and that she thinks he needs some extra one to one help regarding this!!! I’ve been working with her and taking time out each day to sit with him and practice ect were only working on four letters to start with so not to much!!! If I name the letter and ask him to point to M or O for example he can do that no problem but if we go back to it and I ask what letter is this?? He can’t tell me!!!! Does anyone have any tips/advice or been through something similar?? I obviously want to help as I don’t want him falling behind!!! When he was in nursery he struggled a bit with confidence so I’m wondering if that’s what going on as he knows the letters to point to them but not to tell me what they are if that makes sense!!!!
