Hiya can u do a pp for me. Iam after some advise.

I received a letter today asking me to attend court. Normally wouldn’t mind however the case is being heard in a court 200 miles away from my home! It also falls on the day my children come back to me after spending a few weeks with there dad.
I know if I mention to him about having them a day earlier he will kick off. Plus it’s not an environment I want my children in!
Can I just tell them sorry but I cant attend? For reasons above.
Or will I be forced to attend.
Frankly I’m losing sleep over it and worrying myself
