Looking for some advice please. I have a son who’s 9 years old and ever since he was little I’ve always thought that their is something different about him but always had family and friends and myself brush it off as he’s it’s just a boy thing but I now want to get him tested if possible for autism. I know the spectrum is massive but I’m worried that the older he gets the harder it will be for people to understand him like I do. I think it’s more If a social and emotional thing with him. I have to warn people who don’t know him well that if he says something he doesn’t mean it how it comes out. He doesn’t have many friends at all,he doesn’t understand emotions very well as in if someone gets upset he finds it funny. There’s other things but I can’t think of them off the top of my head as this the first time I’ve spoken about it. I’ve never had any reports from school other than his last teacher say we’ll he is just Tyler with his funny ways. I’m worried that if I go to a doctor they will say it’s nothing. I’m really worried how he’s going to cope the more he get older. Does anyone have any advice or has a little one who’s similar?? Thank-you and sorry it’s so long x
