I left my son’s dad in Aug 2008, he took me through court & admitted all DV so only got access at a contact centre which he himself turned down. I have a residency order. My son is now 11 & over the years we’ve had the odd pop up from his dad over Facebook saying he’s coming to take him. Police have always been informed (warned him to keep away & if he’s to do anything he would have to go back through court etc). My question is I’ve been with my partner now for 6 years & would love my son to have the same last name as our other children. He’s already ‘known as’ the last name but it’s not legal. Is there any way I make it legal? My son’s dad IS on his birth certificate. There has been no contact in 8 years. Thanks In Advance x
