Me and my girlfriend have been together for over 7 years, I have 3 children from a previous relationship but we have recently had a baby via a sperm doner (all done at home not a clinic) it was something we wanted for a while and it worked first time. We have never been more happier and our family is now complete. My question is is there any legal way she can have some sort of official mothership/guardianship over the child, as we are a same sexy couple there wasn’t a way we could both be on the birth certificate. I have thought about her adopting all 4 as her own, can we do this without being married? Can this be done at all? I’m really confused as I don’t want her to feel as if she has no rights…she’s been like a mother to my other children (even tho they don’t call her mum) and a fantastic mummy to our baby…help plz? X
