Hi, Can I have a private post please?

I went for a colposcopy yesterday to be told I have Cervical Ectropion (it is also known as Cervical Erosion). I was reassured it’s extremely common etc. But that the look and symptoms are hard to distinguish from early stages of Cervical Cancer.
The doctor gave me a smear. If the results come back normal and rule out cancer I can have a simple procedure.
My questions are if anybody has experienced this before? Did it turn out to be Cervical Ectropion or Cancer?
My doctor and a gynaecologist didn’t pick up on this in recent examinations. Why might this be?
And if there is anybody who has had the procedure… have you been able to go on and conceive okay?
Thanks in advice! 🙂

  • Cervical erosion is actually very common. It is also the reason I bled throughout labour with my 2nd (Placenta prevea had irritated the cervix). Smear confirmed the erosion & treatment was simple. My twins are 14mths old, born 5yrs after my 2nd, so yes, you can still have a healthy pregnancy after too 😄
