My Son Doesn’t Want Anything For Christmas Because He Has Too Much

So this morning we got onto the conversation of what the boys want for Christmas. Harley, after watching a shoe box video of children opening presents on Facebook the other day said he changed his mind and didn’t want anything because he’s got too much.

I asked him what he thought children in poor countries had for Christmas and said he didn’t think they had much. We watched a documentary on YouTube of children opening shoe boxes and how some people in villages live their day to day lives.

We watched unicef videos in Cambodia of children going to school that had just been built, we watched videos of children in Africa and compared it to how we live here. We watched, we both cried, me because of the understanding dawning on him of how lucky he and Koby are, was so touching to see him have so much compassion for these people, I was glad for his tears because I explained to him it means he cares and it shows love. and then Harley decided he wanted to go upstairs and find all his old toys because he wanted to send them to the children who don’t have anything. This is what he pulled together with Koby’s help. So will be on it’s way to The Gambia where my Aunty Carol lives so she can give them out to those who would like them and those most in need. ❤️❤️❤️
