My 2 year old woke up with a lot of blood in her ear this morning out of no where she hasn’t been complaining of a sore ear or had a cold recently. Took her to out of hours GP who contacted a specialist over the phone because she had never seen so much blood coming from the ear before. We ended up getting sent away with a course of amoxicillin but bright red blood is still continuing to pour from her ear is it normal for it to bleed so much? It’s not pussy just bright red fresh blood

My son has had this problem since April his ear just starting bleeding bright red blood, we took his to the doctors who diagnosed a perforated ear drum, 4 weeks later the same problem with the other ear turns out he has a build up of fluid behind his ear drum and when the pressure gets too much it caused his ear drum too burst, he had had 9 courses of antibiotics since April we eventually have an appointment for 8th January for him to have gromets fitted
My son suffers terribly with his ears constantly having ear infections with “puss” running out but has never had “blood” I’d personally be getting a second opinion it doesn’t sound good at all x
id take her back demand to see higher doctor..can’t believe they sent her away while it was still pouring thats just wrong!!! just my opinion though xx
Did the GP say they expected it to keep bleeding?
Give 111 a call or go to A&E to put your mind at rest
I’d ring 111 back, as I’d be quite concerned you got sent away and left in that position 😔 hope she’s okay xx

Personally I would go straight to a&e!
I would go to A & E, don’t be fobbed off
I think I wld be paying them another visit xx
