Regarding Child Tax Credits please check and double check all your payments and updates.
Me and my partner work, low wage so get CTC and i have always updated and told them of any changes as soon as it happens. This last week I ve checked my payment online twice and both times it was for different amount amd lower with each one, so rang them up yesterday, to then be told the reason my payments have reduced by half my normal amounts is due to over payments from over the last 3 years. Crazy when I have always updated and gave any info needed. The Man who I spoke to says the reason this may of happened is because with CTC and other benefits all coming together as universal CTC want to make sure that they get all payments back oweing to them. I also received an extra payment back in March and queried it and was told it was fine but now this. They have reduced my payments by 50% to clear the debt. The debt which is not my fault. Over £3000.
Do they seriously know what they are doing or not!!!!
