Can I get a PPP, I’ve got a 2 year old son (turned 2 in October), and he’s still not talking or really understanding us 😟 he repeats ‘Mum’ and ‘Yeah’ but without meaning. He responds to his name and if you say ‘look’, but if we say anything like bottle or dummy he don’t know what you’re saying.

He tells us what he wants by grabbing our hand and taking us to what he wants, and he’ll hand us things that he wants us to play with him. But he’s not pointing at things he wants though! If you say ‘bye’ to him he’ll wave too so he understands some things we say. He’s never clapped hands or done any action back to us. He’s a really active and busy boy and most of the day it’s hard to get his attention

The possibility of autism has been mentioned but he’s really social with us, family and pretty much everyone he meets, he makes great eye contact and loves us singing songs like the Wheel on the Bus to him, and he absolutely loves you praising him!
He does also have sensory problems, he absolutely loves spinning things and doesn’t really feel pain or know danger, flaps his hands when excited, doesn’t like his head/neck being touched but his dad was pretty much the same and had Sensory Processing Disorder and it also runs in the boys in his family.

Other than that his development is amazing, he was walking before he was 1 and he plays shape/number sorting and colour sorting games on his iPad and LOVES it!

So I’m just wondering if anyone has had a toddler like this and when they eventually started talking and understanding more, we’d also love to know ways of helping him because the paeds won’t see him til April and it’s a long wait 😟
