Can I get a private post please? I really need some advice on a very bad topic.

Over Easter we attended a family event. It was all happy families all day with my very large family.
A relative of mine was there who came out of prison just over a year ago. I was told he went in for sleeping with a girl who was underage but he thought was of age. That’s it.

It’s comes to light that he intact is on the paedophile register, he sexually assaulted girls of very young ages and was a member of various paedophile websites and had images on his phones and computers.

Several family members knew about this but did not tell me the full extent. I had to find out from another family member who was genuinly concerned when she saw photos of my child near him.

I was not given the option to make my own decision as a mother as to whether I wanted my son near him.

If I talk to my family about the a family argument will break out (with those that are fabricating it) and I will be called pathetic.

I suppose my question is should I talk to them or am I being silly? It surely should be my right as a mother to decide whether I want child near him and I should have been given the full details of what actually happened and not a lie?
