Can i have a post please

Iv been toilet training my 3 year old since Sunday. Doing well part from im having to tell him to go every half hour. He doesn’t go on his own accord. Do i just keep doing what im doing and hope he eventually knows to go by himself? Also how do i get him to have a poo in toilet just keeps doing it in his pants thank you for any kind advice x
