Can I have a post please… need some advice we are off to ibiza in August my eldest child aged 5 has a different surname to me and me and his sperm donor aren’t together I know I need to take birth certificate etc etc but if we were to get stopped and they want to talk to him what would they actually say to him etc? As he hasn’t seen his bio dad since aged 1 he’s now 5 and knows nothing about him yet! Xx

When I came back from Paris my Aunty took one of my kids and I took the other through passport control because it was easier. The woman just asked my eldest where she’d been and who she was with and that was it. I was advised by solicitor to take birth certificates in future just in case x
Being in a same sex relationship we took all documents and they never ever asked us ( baby has my surname ) not her biological moms – but I would take some documents just to be on safe side x
They’ll just ask him who he’s travelling with to make sure he knows you etc but they probably won’t as you’ll show the birth certificate
