Can I have a post please?
Has anyone got their child christened in a Roman Catholic church and then sent them to a CofE primary school? My daughter is only 7 weeks, my family isn’t particularly religious but my partners family are, so my partner wants to get her christened in a Catholic church but the school we want to send her to is COFE, My mum is now saying she won’t be able to attend the school her brother goes to (he is christened CofE) because she will be catholic? I don’t really understand religion so any advice would be appreciated. Tia x

  • I’d learn more about this. Email the school and as then what there views are on this. Also if you and your partner aren’t religious together then I think it’s hypocritical to get your child christened. Just my view though. Definitely ask lots of questions to lots of people in order to get a wide view before doing anything. Don’t do anything to please anyone else, she is your child and their views and opinions mean diddlysquat xx

  • My sons Christian and the school we wanted him to attend was Catholic i had a hard time getting him in. HIs first application was declined then he was put on a waiting list which was finalised 3 months later and he was accepted only for the fact another child had dropped out x

  • Pretty sure you can attend a CofE school whatever religion you are. You just have to be willing to accept they will learn about Christianity:) my son went to one from preschool to year 3. He wasn’t any religion but loved learning about it. xxx
