Can I have a ppp I’m homeless:( I’ve got a son who is 4 and due in 5 weeks with my little girl 💗 I’ve been to the council they said if I find a flat under a 1000 they will pay my first month rent and deposit but all these flats I’m viewing they want guarantors no one will be one for me can the housing do something about it ?

  • Thts not usually what happens they cant say if u find a flat under 1000 they will pay as with children ur only intitked to so much housing benifit think its 460 pound per month. They shouldnt be telling u to go look for a house ether as a homeless person they should be getting u somewere even temp place until something comes up.. also never heard of a garantor for a house🙈xx

  • Is it possible to declare yourself homeless? As you have children you’re very high priority. I declared myself homeless when I got kicked out and I was housed in a few weeks

  • Declare yourself as homeless bring your son with you and also you to got to get a mat b1 fourm as proof as pregency if you google your council there should be out of hours homeless team x

  • As long as you’re not intentionally homeless, the council have to give you a council or housing association flat, and find you temporary accommodation in the meantime immediately – a private rented flat.

    188 Interim duty to accommodate in case of apparent priority need.

    (1) If the local housing authority have reason to believe that an applicant may be homeless, eligible for assistance and have a priority need, they shall secure that accommodation is available for his occupation pending a decision as to the duty (if any) owed to him under the following provisions of this Part.

    (2) The duty under this section arises irrespective of any possibility of the referral of the applicant’s case to another local housing authority (see sections 198 to 200).

    (3) The duty ceases when the authority’s decision is notified to the applicant, even if the applicant requests a review of the decision (see section 202).The authority may [F1secure] that accommodation is available for the applicant’s occupation pending a decision on a review.

    (1)The following have a priority need for accommodation—

    (a)a pregnant woman or a person with whom she resides or might reasonably be expected to reside;

    (b)a person with whom dependent children reside or might reasonably be expected to reside;
