Has anyone’s child got a Mongolian blue spot?
My son is almost 17 months old and has one in the middle of his back. When he was born the midwife looked for one during his newborn examination and explain that they are more likely to occur in children who are dark skinned or mixed race… Anyway I took him to the health clinic this morning. I don’t see my health visitor anymore and only saw her a hand full of times before I asked if it compulsory for me to go. When I found out I stopped going and only went to the 1 year check etc…. I decided to go because my son has been unwell with a bug for the last 2 weeks and is finally over it but I wanted to check his weight… So I saw my old health visitor and she said that my son has a bruise on his back. I explained what it was and she just looked at me like i was an idiot and told me she knows the difference between a MBS and a bruise. She has asked me to come back next week.

My son has them from birth and hes now 8 and still has his on his bum and 1 on his back. I was also told it was a bruise but lucky when i said he was mixed race asian they relised i was telling the truth as i had hospital notes to back this up too. Dnt worry to much hv r just busy bodies xxx
My daughter has one as she’s mixed race, my health visitor once asked if I’d dropped her… it’s in between her bum cheeks at the top 🙄. A lot of people have no idea what they are tbh. It appears that she’s one of them.
surely it would be in his red book/ notes that he has one?
