Can I have a private post please?
Basically I’ve just returned to work after 9 months off, before I left I signed an agreement to say that I WILL return to work for 3 months and if I do not I will have to pay back the maternity pay I have received. I signed this agreement as one of my family members said that they would be more than happy to look after him. However tonight the family member has rang me and said she can’t look after my son anymore it’s making her tired and ill. So how to I go about this? I can’t get a childminder as I work 12 hour shifts, I leave my house at 6am and do not return home until 8pm. I have no choice but to leave but at the same time I can not afford to pay back around £10,000? Advice please 😰

Never heard of such an agreement? How can that even be legal? If so, cant you do flexible shifts? And how long has it been, sure a few weeks in to returning?
