  • My little girl is 4 and asked what tampons were for so I told her in basic terms- if you don’t have a baby in your tummy when you’re a bit older then your body doesn’t need all its blood so it lets a teeny bit out. I plan to always be open about this and as she gets older I’ll be more specific.

  • My daughter is 10 and the past year we have had a few conversations about it as she’s going through certain changes and I wanted her to know that she can come to me if she’s confused or upset or just wants a chat about it all. She offend asks me if it’s playing on her mind x

  • I have a little boy, but my mum didn’t get a chance to I started mine when I was in about year 5-6 so I didn’t know about it until it actually happened to me, my sister was the same and so was my mum, I’d start around year 5-6 because most schools do sex ed anyway around those years because they’re coming up to puberty x

  • My 9 year old step daughter asks me about them all the time, we’ve always talked about them in our house ever since she was little cos she will see a tampon or a pad at some point so she’s gonna ask, the sooner she knew the better so she knows it’s something “normal” the same as my razor in the shower to shave my pits & my deodorant etc xx

  • My eldest daughter who is now 10 found a tampon when she was about 7 and asked what it was and I told her, in the last few years she’s asked more questions about periods and stuff, herself and her 8 and 5 year old sisters all know about periods and that it’s natural and nothing to be scared of. 10yo and 8yo know about pads, how to use them and stuff like that. Am really open wit my girls and they know they can come talk to me about anything
