Can I have a private post please?
I currently have a large fibroid which causes me to have extremely heavy periods to the point where I flood through all my clothes and pads etc every ten minutes. I have been given the hormone norethisterone to try and control the constant bleeding. I also take tranexamic acid when it is really heavy. The only other options I was offered are a hysterectomy or temporary menopause injection. I am still off childbearing age and although I have a child, my fiance does not. We really wanted to start a family but I am wondering how likely it is going to be to conceive. When I don’t take the norethisterone, my bleeding is completely dehibilitating. Although I know it is not a contraceptive, I’ve been told it is difficult to conceive on this drug. I think in the near future I will no longer be able to continue with regular periods etc so feel time is running out for me. I would be grateful to know if anyone has been in same or similar situation and if they were able to conceive. The doctor’s advice was to continue to take norethisterone but not my pill if I want to become pregnant but I am unsure of this. You can’t take the hormone whilst pregnant so what would happen then?! Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
