Can I have a private post please.
Want some opinions. My partner has a child from a previous relationship. He gives the mum £130 every month and we have his child every other weekend. The half term just gone we had her the whole week Sunday-Sunday.
We went to collect his child this evening to have her for the weekend and the mums asked my partner to buy her a few new things.
What would you do, would you buy them or tell her to use the money he gives her every month to be paying for the things that she needs?
His child is 7 and so isn’t a young child that constantly needs the next size clothes up, milk or nappies etc every month.
At the moment she’s keeping it consistent with contact but now and again she will stop his child coming over but will be messaging by midday payday asking if his transferred her money yet and has also told him ‘you’re lucky I even let you see her.’ She does take the p*** out of him a lot! And so this is why I want opinions on whether this is a fair ask of him or whether it’s another thing of her taking the mick!
