Can I please have ppp?
Sorry if it’s a long one. Am just looking for some advice. Thank you
Basically me and my partner and my 1 year old daughter have been living in our flat for about 7 months now, and we are on the ground floor and their is a man in his 40’s upstairs, anyways we have had a few problems with him like him having random girls over and drinking/ taking drugs, they are blasting the music till 4-5am in the morning, his slams the doors shut 5/6 times each time which is really loud down stairs, he also has been to our door twice kicking off threatening my other half saying his going to kill him, we obviously rang the police but they did absolutely nothing because they said nothing happened! He bangs on the floor if my daughter cry’s which scares her, we have contacted our housing office but they will not help us because are in rent arrears, which in my eyes seems a bit unfair. Anyways can anyone give me some advice what we can do, we want to be rehome because it’s just getting out of hand but the council won’t help us and we can’t afford to go private! Thank you everyone x

  • Everyone can’t move if rent arrears! Can you clear them? My house burnt down, we were homeless still in hospitial and council still asked for rent arrears in full before they put us into emergency accommodation the next day. We had nothing and they still wouldn’t help us for 5 days till insurance paid them. You really won’t be able to move until you pay what you owe.

  • Whether u r in rent arrears or not housing association have a duty to take ur complaint seriously and get to the bottom of it. I wld make notes, recording of all the noise & commotion for a while then get police involved again x
