Can you post for me:
I’m due to go into Birmingham Childrens Hospital with my daughter for a week.
I understand they’ll feed her, but does anyone know how it’s works for the parents, we’ve not been given any information and I’m starting to panicking considering we go in on Sunday!
Thank you! X

  • Hi we go to birmingham childrens hospital regularly and had a few stays with my son. They only provide food for your child. Inbox me if you want to

  • If you are expected to be there more than 3 days they will give you a discount voucher to use in the restaurant, you can either sit in there or take it out up to the ward. There’s also a little kitchen bit on each ward (well I presume each one – there was on the ward we stayed in) for parents, with a microwave, fridge and toaster. Make sure you take labels with you for your food, and take a plastic cup with a lid if you want hot drinks on the ward with you. Hope this helps x

  • When I was at the hospital with my son, the hospital gave one parent to each child a ticket for a free meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My son was in Norwich and Norfolk hospital but I’m sure the hospital you will be at would do the same if it’s the children’s ward x

  • Hospitals only feed the patient. They do usually however offer a light breakfast if you’re staying there and plenty of free tea and coffee x
