Could I get a private post please

I was in hospital the other week for a few nights due to a slipped disc and awful sciatica that I couldn’t move. My mother was on holiday and she usually looks after my daughter if something’s wrong or just for a sleepover which my daughter loves doing she adores my mother and her time with her and my mother is the same with my daughter.

Anyway my fiancé was working nights until 2am all that week and couldn’t change shifts so my sister in law stayed over nights with our daughter until midday the following day when my fiancé had her.

Well I found out my sister in law let our 19 month old fall asleep to the iPad with her favourite shows on.
I’ve never let our daughter do this she was always fed, put into her cot then she would turn over pull her blanket up and doze off asleep on her her.
Now she refuses to sleep without her shows being on.
I did 4 nights without the Ipad and every night she screamed and banged around her cot for 4 hours at a time until I caved and put it on then boom she was asleep within minutes.

How do I stop this cause I know if I leave her for 4 hours or more she would still just scream and scream then come the morning she won’t wake up at 8am or even 9am it would be later.

I’m stuck on what to do. I’ve told my sister in law off for putting the iPad on because she knows I’ve never done it and seen hundreds of times how I put her to bed.
My daughter loves her aunt to pieces and always looks forward to going for a walk to the park with her, so I don’t get why she needed to use the Ipad to get her to sleep because now it’s stuck with her 😣

  • Maybe she wouldn’t settle for your SIL so she did it out of desperation (as you did 😉 ). Just persevere. She’ll get used to not having it again x
