Could I have a pp please.
I’ve been in temp accommodation for the past year, I spoke to my council last week and they told me I could be stuck here for another 5+ years due to what I’m entitled to, if this is the case my eldest will be 10+ years old.
I have found a property with a garden that would be suitable for us, it is on the same street as my eldests nan and grandad and round the corner from her dad which is a bonus.
Atm we get HB to help us with our rent( my partner pays majority of it, but we do get a little help) the little help we get is guaranteed here because of us being in temp. My main worry Is, if I was to move would the benefit cap hit us hard and we would be left with tons in arrears then get evicted and be back to square one? Our rent for the new place would be £1500 pcm. Which is my partners wages every month so our top up would be slightly more than our current property. If everyone else was in my shoes would you make the move from a 2 bed flat on the top floor with no lift(I have to carry 2 small children and a double pram and shopping up 4 flights of stairs) to a 3 bed house with a lovely garden for them to play in or would you just stay put and wait it out? I absolutely hate it here but I don’t want to be living everyday in fear we would be hit hard and become homeless. I just want stability and a nice loving perfect home for my family.
