Could I have a ppp. I have an 8, nearly 9 year old Son. He is bright and doing well at school, has no issues socialising etc. However, we’ve had some issues over the past few years with his behaviour. Mainly a bad temper and anger issues. He has a lot of traits of ADHD; short attention span, becomes easily bored, extreme hyperactivness; he is literally never still, interrupting, forgetfulness, including lots of others. However, after countless trips to the gp and family services over different issues, nothing has been diagnosed or no help given, nothing ever comes of it.

I’m slightly worried he’s developing OCD traits. He has a certain routine of sorting cushions/teddies when he gets into bed, then he’ll count to a certain number before giving me a kiss and cuddle. He also said he likes to count and touch certain paving stones. Knowing a lot about OCD, this obviously has me worried. I will keep an eye on that, but my main issue at the moment is the strange habbits he has.

He will blink a lot, he’ll stretch his mouth out into a wide smile, almost like a tic. He’ll pull at the front of his clothing at his neck. He makes an awful throat clearning sound. His latest one, is to strecth out his fingers so they are ridgid, repeatedly. Everytime he does one of these habbits, and I ask him why, he doesn’t seem to know he’s doing them at all. Can anyone tell me if their child has any of these habbits, and whether they have any additional needs/diagnosis with it? Or are they habbits he will grow out of? I would love to hear from parents whose child also does/ has done this. Thanks.
