Okay so technically im still married to my ex (saving for divorce) although we split up in september after a 8 month marriage due to domestic abuse to the extent of social services getting involved and saying if we ever get back together our son will be taken away from us after the last incident where he slept with someone and got her pregnant 1 week after i had a miscarriage and when i confronted him about it he beat me up and smashed the house up infront of my son.

I have been seeing my best friend since january, i have litrally friendzoned him for 10 years then realized what a massive mistake i had made in friendzoning him and that i did think i had feelings for him so since january we took it slow , and i must say this is the happiest ive ever been in a relationship! We have both agreed that we are going to make it official that we are in a relationship for everyone to know this month (we have been keeping it quiet)

But the dilema i am in now is my name us still legally his surname , and as redicilous as it sounds i dont want to change it as its the same as my sons… now my partner/ who im seeing has got no problem with this but i cant help how messed up it will look to outsiders? Like do i keep my abusive ex’s surname to be the same as my son or do i go back to my maiden name ? 🤔
